1st Ed Credit Union Celebrates I Love My Credit Union Day

1st Ed Credit Union announces community celebrations throughout Pennsylvania for I Love My Credit Union Day. On July 31, 2026, 1st Ed will host a member appreciation event at their Chambersburg, Greencastle, and Hanover locations. From 11 AM – 2 PM, all branch locations will be offering refreshments, giveaway opportunities, and more. The Hanover branch will also offer secure shredding services during the event.

Created by the Illinois Credit Union League in 2021, I Love My Credit Union Day is a national movement that encourages credit union members to participate in a social media blitz by sharing what they love about their credit unions using the tag #ILoveMyCreditUnion. 1st Ed Credit Union is joining hundreds of participating credit unions across the country by marking the day with a member appreciation event.

Marketing Coordinator Samantha Cantrell says “The credit union movement has so much to offer, from personal customer service in an increasingly disconnected world to initiatives that make life more affordable. We love getting to see our members come together to celebrate what makes our community so special and can’t wait for this year’s event.”

The event will be open to the public, and members of the community are encouraged to attend regardless of whether they are currently members of the credit union. To learn more, please follow the link to the event page at https://www.1edcu.org/lmcu-day/.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
