2026 PSAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll: Football

The Shippensburg University football team was ranked sixth in the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The poll was selected by conference coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own teams.

Kutztown was picked first in the Eastern Division with six first-place votes. East Stroudsburg ranked second, followed by Shepherd in third with one first-place vote. West Chester was fourth, Bloomsburg fifth, Shippensburg sixth and Millersville seventh.

Shippensburg enters the 2026 season under first-year head coach Drew Gallardy. The current roster includes 54 returning players, 47 incoming first-year student-athletes and three transfers.

Redshirt junior linebacker Nate Myers is among the returning players. Myers was named to the 2025 All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team and was selected as the Raiders’ 2026 team captain following the spring season.

Shippensburg opened preseason camp this week and held its first official practice Wednesday morning.

The Raiders are scheduled to open the season Saturday, Aug. 28 against Lock Haven at Seth Grove Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Each PSAC Eastern Division team will also face Lackawanna this season as part of its league schedule. Lackawanna was invited to join the PSAC last year, contingent on completing the process of becoming an NCAA Division II member school.
