The U.S. Senate has passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a wide-ranging legislative package aimed at extending tax relief, enhancing national security, and supporting energy independence.

Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) issued a statement following the vote, expressing his support for the bill and outlining its potential impact on Pennsylvania residents.

“I am proud to support this bill because it would deliver continued tax relief to millions of Pennsylvania families and prevent the largest tax increase in American history. This bill also delivers on many of the promises that both President Trump and I made – to secure our nation’s border and bolster our national defense to keep Americans safe, and to unleash American energy potential and lower costs for consumers,” McCormick stated.

The legislation includes an expansion of the Child Tax Credit, makes permanent the doubling of the standard deduction, and continues the Employer Paid Family and Medical Leave tax credit. It also makes the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, which McCormick says will save the average Pennsylvania family $2,500 annually. The bill further includes provisions to eliminate federal taxes on tips and overtime pay and supports school choice measures.

McCormick also emphasized the bill’s investments in border security, law enforcement, and defense, along with provisions to promote energy development in Pennsylvania.

“There’s still work to be done to get this bill to the President’s desk, but I am glad the Senate has moved it forward,” McCormick concluded.
