CASD Food Service Brings Strawberry Taste Test to Ben Chambers Elementary

Chambersburg Area School District Food Service brought the PA Harvest of the Month program to Ben Chambers Elementary School with a strawberry French toast taste test.

Strawberries were the featured harvest item for May and June. Students tried the dish and voted on whether they liked it.

The strawberries were purchased from Country Creek Produce in Chambersburg, owned by farmer Brent Barnhart. Eggs were purchased through Ben Barnett of Family Farm Direct and produced by Berry Blossom Poultry and Produce in Waynesboro.

The PA Harvest of the Month program highlights local foods and introduces students to new food options.
