SHIP U. Women’s Soccer upended at Bloomsburg, 3-0

The Shippensburg University women’s soccer team lost to Bloomsburg, 3-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division match Saturday at Steph Pettit Stadium.

Shippensburg fell to 1-2-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Bloomsburg improved to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC East.

Olivia Thompson gave Bloomsburg the lead in the 15th minute following a header from Haley Bull. The Huskies extended their lead with goals from Niamh Fanning in the 52nd minute and Anika Krasnai in the 83rd minute.

Bloomsburg held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Shippensburg finished with a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks but did not score on those opportunities.

Ashley Hughes recorded the Raiders’ only shot on goal. Goalkeeper Kirstin Brown made five saves.

Shippensburg will play at Millersville at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
