The Shippensburg University football team forced three turnovers and stopped four fourth-down attempts in a 24-14 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday night at Cebe Ross Field.

Shippensburg improved to 1-1 and earned its first victory under head coach Drew Gallardy. The Raiders outgained the Bobcats 381-222 despite committing two turnovers and 10 penalties.

Quarterback Roman Jensen completed 19 of 30 passes for 257 yards and one touchdown. Chris Adegunle caught six passes for 124 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown that gave Shippensburg a 14-7 halftime lead.

Andre Weidman opened the scoring with a nine-yard touchdown run. BJ Jones added a nine-yard touchdown with 21 seconds remaining in the third quarter to put the Raiders ahead. Wilson Ingerski completed the scoring with a 27-yard field goal.

Three additional Shippensburg touchdowns were nullified by penalties.
