Leona Ann Hill 1934-2026

Leona Ann Hill, 91, Warfordsburg, Pa, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA.

She was born on September 27, 1934. She was the daughter of the late John and Rentha Smith.

She was the widow of the late Alton D. Hill, whom she loved dearly, they were married on July, 26, 1952. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2017.

Leona was a member of the Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church in Warfordsburg, PA where she taught Sunday school for many years. In her later years, she attended the Needmore Bible Church in Needmore, PA.

Leona, better known as Gammy to her family, was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Twana L. (wife of Joel) Smith of Magnolia, MN, son Roderick A. Hill of Warfordsburg, PA, son Stacy A. (husband of Wendy) Hill of Warfordsburg, PA, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and twelve great, great-grandchildren and sister Genevieve (wife of Ed) Younker.

Leona will be missed.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church, Warfordsburg, PA from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church, Warfordsburg, PA, with Pastor Brandon Hill officiating.

There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Friday.

Interment will be at the Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA.

Arrangements were made by the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
