Shop Small, Win Big: Downtown Chambersburg Rewards Shoppers on Small Business Saturday

Shoppers who spend $25 or more at a participating downtown Chambersburg shop or restaurant on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28, can draw a prize ticket for $10, $20, $50 or $100 in Downtown Dollars. The prize draw begins at 10 a.m. at the Square.

Small Business Saturday, held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, celebrates locally owned businesses. In downtown Chambersburg, customers can take part in three steps:

1.Shop or dine at any participating downtown Chambersburg business on Saturday, Nov. 28.
2.Starting at 10 a.m., bring a same-day receipt totaling $25 or more to the Courthouse Plaza.
3.Draw a prize ticket for $10, $20, $50 or $100 in Downtown Dollars, while supplies last, and redeem it that day at participating businesses.

Downtown Dollars keep the celebration going, sending winners right back into local shops and restaurants before the day ends.

“Small Business Saturday is our chance to thank the people who make downtown Chambersburg what it is. When you shop small, your dollars stay in our community, and this year, you might win more to spend,” said Nikki Howells, marketing manager of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. “Come downtown, check out our local shops and restaurants, and stop by the Square for your chance to win.”

Small Business Saturday is made possible through Downtown Chambersburg Inc., the Downtown Business Council of Chambersburg, and F&M Trust. For questions, please reach out to Downtown Chambersburg Inc at: dci@chambersburg.org, or 717-264-7101.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
