The Institute: All New Fall EXPLORE! Programs for Kids

An all new fall series of four outdoor adventure programs for kids started this month. Designed for kids in grades K to 5, the EXPLORE! programs will run on four consecutive Thursdays, October 6, 13, 20 & 27, after school from 4 to 5 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa.

Taught by Institute educators, each program includes educational activities related to the season. All program activities are outside.

The first program is Discovering Sunflowers. Students will learn all about sunflowers. They will investigate the giant flower head itself, learn about the seeds (and find out if they are edible!), and explore the life cycle of the tall flowers. In addition, kids will listen to a related story book, and create a sunflower sun catcher craft to take home.

Space is limited; pre-register at 717-762-0373 or via email at
