Mrs. Anna L Garman (Gates), 75, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in York, PA, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born July 30, 1948, in Qunicy Twp, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. George G. and Esther (Freeman) Gates.

She and her husband of over 39 years, Mr. James J. Garman, were married on June 8, 1970. Mr. Garman passed away in 2009.

Mrs. Garman was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she showed a special love for entertaining her family for the holidays. Anna was a devoted NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Kevin Harvick being her favorite drivers.

She is survived by her children: Shelly L. Garman of Mont Alto, Jody K. Garman of Hustontown, PA; grandson Justin Garman; great grandchildren Bentley and Cheyenne; siblings Faye M. Noll, Arthur W. Gates and a number of nieces of nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers George R. Gates, Gary L. Gates, and Jeff Freeman.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Pastor Terry Ulrich officiating.

Burial will follow at Quincy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home.
