Arthur L Briggs Sr., 81, of Fayetteville, formerly of Spruce Creek, went home to his Lord November 20, 2021, in Chambersburg Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Beulah M. (Gamble) Briggs, 17 hours earlier that day.
Born June 20, 1940, in Chambersburg he was a son of the late Charles Arthur and Helen Frances (Irvin) Briggs.
Mr. Briggs was formerly employed at the Grist Mill in Burnt Cabins, Banks Kennedy in McCoysville and for the last 31 years was with Evergreen Farms in Spruce Creek. He enjoyed farming, hunting, sports, fishing, gardening and feeding wildlife. He also played baseball for Coysville, Baileyville and Spruce Creek.
He previously attended the Lutheran Church in Shade Gap and recently worshiped at Grand Point Church, Chambersburg.
Surviving are his children: Arletta Sible (David) of Warriors Mark, Wanda Snyder of Spruce Creek, Patricia Unger (Jeff) of Chambersburg, Helen Kugler (Daniel) of Fayetteville, and Arthur Briggs, Jr. (Tuesday) of Manheim and a daughter-in-law, Cara Briggs of Florida; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a sister, Sandy Truitt and a brother, Bruce Briggs.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a son-in-law, Kenneth Snyder, Sr., a great great granddaughter, Hayley Sheffield, a brother Glenn Briggs, Sr. and a sister, Frances Calvin.
Viewing for both Arthur and Beulah will be Wed., Nov. 24 beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by their funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run with Pastor Lawrence Metzler officiating.
Interment Upper Tuscarora Cemetery, Lack Township.
