Mrs. Barbara W Witchie (Mroz), 79, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Born February 15, 1942 in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Florence (Krieger) Mroz.
Mrs. Witchie was a graduate of Shamokin Catholic High School with the Class of 1959.
In her early life, she was employed as a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and later worked as an administrative assistant at The National Institute of Health. She retired in 1988.
Mrs. Witchie attended St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro and was a member of Farm Women of PA.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, birdwatching and loved to entertain at her home.
Mrs. Witchie is survived by her second husband, Mr. Allan J. Witchie; two children, Steve Wilde of Shippensburg, PA and Christine Charlton (Jason) of Baltimore, MD: two grandchildren, Drew Charlton and Will Charlton; six step-children, Aileen Stottlemyer of Fayetteville, PA, Mary Beth George of Myrtle Beach, SC, Allan J. Witchie, Jr. of Clarksburg, MD, Paul A. Witchie of Darnestown, MD, Pattie Owens of Brunswick, MD and Molly McNaney of Ocean Pines, MD; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Simpson of Lewisberry, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Juergen Wilde in 1985; and one sister, Marian Klebon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon, Saturday, June 12, 2021 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 North Broad Street, Waynesboro with the Rev. Robert Malagesi, MSSCC officiating.
Burial will be private in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon, Saturday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro.
