Baxter Group to Host Healthy Buildings Brunch Event, Oct 4.

Whether their buildings are older or newer, Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Renovators, and Real Estate Professionals are faced with unique environmental challenges.  Rarely do they have an opportunity to network with individuals faced with similar challenges outside of their own organization.  On October 4, like-minds come together to network, enjoy brunch, and share information that can help them keep their buildings healthier.

Topics at the healthy buildings brunch will include choosing to be present in every interaction, environmental due diligence, radon – myth vs. truth, prepping a renovation project, the value of HVAC preventative maintenance, assessing the building envelope, and when to have inspections.

“Our community asked for more!  Our Healthy Building events give those responsible for the health of buildings an opportunity to meet, share, and network with others like themselves.” shared Jocelyne Melton from Baxter Environmental Group, the sponsor of this program.  “We have the opportunity to learn from our lineup of speakers, but also from those in the room that work in this industry every day!”

In response to rising concerns about indoor air and environmental quality, Baxter Environmental Group, Inc. previously launched their “Breathe Healthy Initiative”.  The goal of this program is to provide our community with education and information to protect ourselves, our families, our employees, or our building occupants from indoor environmental contaminants.

Indoor pollutants such as asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, radon, and a variety of indoor environmental contaminants impact the health of thousands of people every year.  Small preventative measures can make a huge difference in the health of our indoor environment and those that reside in it.  This Initiative is intended to inspire and motivate us to seek preventative maintenance and address areas that could impact the health of our environment.
