Franklin County Free Press Publisher, Nathan Neil could not wait or hold the secret of the winners for even a full day. Very excited, he took to Facebook Live and announced the winners for this, the first year our publication has ever done a community award program.
Neil opened with remarks thanking a variety of people for their support including Vicky Taylor our former publisher, Jordan Nace from the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance and Sam Thrush from Downtown Chambersburg Inc. He also took a moment to honor his friend Vera Cornish who passed away in 2020.
Cornish was the publisher of the Dauphin County publication, The Urban Connection. They worked together for many years. “Early into working with Vera, She taught me the importance of community,” Neil stated. Neil went on to highlight the importance of community throughout the entire live stream. “It’s the community that makes Franklin County the place that my family and I love to live and work.”
