Betty May McFerren obituary 1932~2021
Mrs. Betty May (Stull) McFerren, 89, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Saturday morning, May 1, 2021, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born March 8, 1932 in Quincy Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hanzy and Clara A. (Patterson) Stull. She was a lifelong resident of the Fairview area of Quincy Township.
She and her husband, the late Richard S. McFerren, were married on November 28, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. McFerren died on December 20, 2003.
In her early life, Mrs. McFerren worked at Waynesboro Laundry. However, she was a homemaker most of her life.
She attended services at Glen Furney and Fairview Chapel. She was a member of the National AARP and was a cub scout den mother.
She is survived by three sisters, Goldie Scott, Juanita Swartz (Michael) and Dolly Ebersole (Dave), all of Waynesboro; two brothers, Hanzy Stull (Mable) and Ray Stull, Sr. (Betty), both of Greencastle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Ann McFerren who died on September 14, 1965; six brothers, Reynolds Stull, Eugene Stull, Chauncey “Tucker” Stull, George E. “Obie” Stull, Horkey Stull and Arnold Stull; and three sisters, Nancy Dehart, Patsy Crider and Flory Stull.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Terry Ulrich officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday morning, in the funeral home.
