Bishop G. Christman

Born on January 6, 1930, to the late Ambrose and Margaret (Bishop) Christman, Bishop lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, dedication, and devotion to his family and community.

A proud graduate of Chambersburg High School’s Class of 1947, Bishop honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the SKF industries with 41 years of service as a tool and die maker.

He was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and maintained connections with several veterans’ and community organizations, including American Legion Post #46, AMVETS Post #224, and AARP.

One of the greatest blessings of Bishop’s life was his beloved wife, Evelyn (Crusey) Christman, whom he married on February 12, 1948. Together, they shared more than 78 years of marriage, building a lifetime of memories, love, and companionship. Their enduring commitment stands as a beautiful testament to a love that has lasted through the decades.

Bishop’s legacy lives on through his daughter, Dawn Statler (Steven) of Huntsville, Alabama; his son, Jeffrey M. Christman (Susan) of Hanover, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Andrea Gray (Will), Tyler Christman, and Olivia Christman; and his great-grandchildren, Alexander Gray and Jackson Gray. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory Christman of Manassas, Virginia. Though preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Frank, and his beloved parents, he leaves behind a family whose lives have been forever shaped by his presence.

At 96 years of age, Bishop leaves behind a legacy spanning generations. His life was a testament to the enduring values of family, faith, service, and commitment. The memories he created, the love he shared, and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Condolences and memories may be shared at the funeral home’s website.
