Bonita “Bonnie” Rae Robinson

Bonnie was born on December 25, 1948, in Chambersburg, PA to Jacob Nelson “Nellie” Fox and JoAnne (Statler) Fox.

She graduated from CASHS in 1967 and was employed at Eyerlys/BonTon Department Store for 45 years. As the daughter of a major league baseball player, Bonnie got to travel to many locations such as Chicago, Texas, Washington, DC, Hawaii, and Cooperstown, NY, to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Bonnie loved going on numerous shopping trips with her best friends, Debbie and Sherry. You would never see Bonnie out and about without her perfectly coiffed hair, layers upon layers of jewelry and thoughtfully put together outfits. But even more than her style, it was her personality that you couldn’t help but love. Bonnie would tell you exactly how it was and rarely held back, but underneath it all was the biggest heart and the best personality. She left an impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.

Bonnie is survived by her aunts, Darlene (Leroy) Meyers and Kay Mentzer; and close friends, Sherry Tarquino and Debbie Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Tracey.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Online condolences may be expressed at the funeral home’s website.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
