Bonnie C. Orem

Bonnie was born on December 16, 1952, in Frederick, MD, the daughter of the late John and Mary Havlicek Defina.

Bonnie was fun loving and extroverted. Always busy, you could often find her outdoors, raising and training animals, horseback riding, gardening or landscaping for herself and others.

She was a creative force that could make anything from a ball gown to a building, and did just that many times. If you knew her, you laughed with her. Nothing kept her down for long and her sense of humor made even the worst situation better. There was no one like her, and her energy and presence will be missed every day.

Bonnie is survived by her three daughters, Stacy Clevenger of Harrisonville, PA, Beth Hughes of Needmore, PA, and Jessica Johnson of Greensburg, PA, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her daughter, Danielle Orem, her sister, Geraldine Walter, and three brothers, John Defina, Michael Defina, and Sonny Defina.

A graveside service will be held at Penn Forest Cemetery in Verona, PA on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1 p.m.

Online condolences can be made at the funeral home’s website.

Funeral arrangements were trusted to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. 2nd Street McConnellsburg, PA 17233, (717) 485-3401.
