Boyer & Ritter Director Mark Banks Graduates from Leadership Harrisburg Area Program

Boyer & Ritter Director Mark Banks recently graduated from Leadership Harrisburg Area’s Community Leadership Series, a program that provides decision-makers with valuable insights into the region’s most pressing issues and opportunities.

The Leadership Harrisburg Area program allows participants to engage with nonprofit organizations and gain a deeper understanding of the Central Pennsylvania community and ways to support it.

Banks heads the firm’s System and Organization Controls (SOC) services group, which conducts specialized audits of a company’s policies, procedures, internal controls, and information technology. In addition to being a CPA, he is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF). Since joining the firm in 2018, he has worked with clients to strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and address complex compliance challenges.

As part of the program, he was part of a collaborative team alongside other regional leaders to develop solutions that support community organizations and initiatives.

“Mark’s commitment to professional excellence and community engagement reflects the values we prioritize at Boyer & Ritter,” said Lisa Myers, Boyer & Ritter Managing Partner. “We’re proud of his accomplishment and the impact he continues to make in our region.”

Banks earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and Master of Accountancy from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business.

Established in 1986, Leadership Harrisburg Area has developed more than 1,400 business and community leaders through its programs, which emphasize civic engagement and regional impact.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
