Born May 8, 1958 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harry Hartman Johns, II and Elsie Pauline (Vanderau) Johns and Lois Johns of Waynesboro.

Brady was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1976.

In the Spring of 1978, Brady left the Waynesboro area traveling to Florida, Texas and California before settling in Louisville where he had his two children.

While in Louisville, he started his own business, Precision Pavers, one of the first independently owned paving businesses in the Louisville area. Brady was very proud of the work he did and what he had accomplished with his business.

He had a love for music and was known to be seen in the Louisville area on stage singing a Hank Williams or Johnny Cash tune with his good friend Jay Steward.

Brady’s passion for hunting began at an early age hunting with his father in the mountains of PA and following him to Louisville where he passed that love of hunting onto his son. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved the game of golf even though he did not golf much himself. Weekends were most often filled with something sports related.

In 2018, Brady made his way back to Pennsylvania, beginning a new chapter of his life with Kay Whitsel that spanned the next four years. Brady and Kay were engaged to be wed in the fall of 2022. Together, they co-owned a property and were looking forward to the future with Brady’s retirement. His illness moved the wedding date closer and they were married February 26, 2022.

A dedicated father, brother, uncle and friend, Brady cherished his family sharing a deep connection with many generations, even great-nieces and nephews. He easily made friends where ever he went and will be dearly missed by all. Boro Strong, the legend will be missed especially by this wonderful group of forever friends.

In addition to his step-mother, Lois and wife, Kay, Brady is survived by two children, Jaq and Tyler Johns; step-son, Dakota Whitsel; nine siblings, Ginger Snively (Mike), Ronnie Johns (Betsy), Tina Smetzer (Andy), Harry “Sonny” Johns (Melinda), Joel Johns (Deanne), Jeanine Ludy (Ben), Charlene Harville (Lynn), Karen Beaver (Travis) and Kelley Stouffer (Shawn); step-sister, Sue Freeman (Scot); step-brother; Steve Furry (Dawn); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews as well as host of extended family and friends.
