Britax Recalls Several Child Car Seats Over Handle Detachment Risk

Britax Child Safety, Inc. is recalling certain child car seats because a screw in the carrying handle may come loose, causing the handle to partially detach.

The recall includes certain B-Safe Gen 2, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit Plus, B-Safe 35, B-Safe Ultra and Endeavours child seats. Specific models are listed in Britax’s recall report.

According to the recall notice, a child could fall if the carrying handle partially detaches, increasing the risk of injury.

A remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by Oct. 19, 2026.

Owners may contact Britax customer service at 888-427-4829.

The recall is listed under NHTSA Recall ID 26C006. Consumers can also check whether a specific car seat is affected using NHTSA’s car seat recall lookup tool.
