The Shippensburg University men’s indoor track & field team got strong performances from several athletes Friday night as a split squad competed at the Bucknell Tune-Up.

Sophomore Brooks Bear (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) landed yet another weight throw PR this season, with his Friday effort being his first-ever NCAA provisional qualifier. Bear threw the weight 58 feet, 1 ¾ inches (17.72 meters), finishing second, to make him one of four men in the conference to surpass the 58-foot mark this season.

Sophomore Pat Maloney (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) paced the Raiders in the shot, finishing third on a put of 49 feet, 0 ¼ inches. Maloney also had a weight throw season best of 53 feet, 1 inch.

Senior Conner Oldt (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport (Manhattan)) ran a new PR in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing third on a top time of 8.39 seconds. Oldt improved his PR by .03 seconds and should be seeded as one of the Top 8 in the league at next week’s conference championships.

Sophomore Josh Booth (McConnellsburg, Pa./McConnellsburg) picked a conference qualifier in the 200 meters, running fifth in 23.03 seconds, and completed the 400-meter dash in 51.33 seconds.
