Carlisle Man Charged After Missing Person Investigation

A Carlisle man was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 9, following a missing person investigation in the first block of South Pitt Street.

Carlisle Police responded to the address while searching for a person reported missing from Kentucky. Officers reported seeing signs that the missing person was inside the residence.

Police negotiated with the tenant, 43-year-old Michael Boyd Sr., for several hours in an effort to contact the missing person. Officers later obtained a search warrant and took Boyd into custody.

Police said Boyd resisted arrest. After he was taken to Cumberland County Prison, authorities allegedly found a concealed folding knife on him.

Boyd was charged with weapons or implements of escape, obstructing the administration of law or another governmental function, and resisting arrest.

The missing person was found safe inside the residence and was being reunited with family members.

Boyd is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
