Chambersburg Business Owner Charged Over $738 Unfulfilled Softball Booster Order

A criminal charge has been filed against Anton Ha in connection with an alleged $738 loss involving merchandise ordered for the Chambersburg Area Sports Boosters softball program.

According to court records, a criminal complaint was filed against Ha on August 6, 2026, before Magisterial District Judge Kelly L. Rock. Ha is charged with one count of Theft by Deception-Fail to Correct, graded as a first-degree misdemeanor. The court docket lists the alleged offense date as March 17, 2026.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Pennsylvania State Police, a representative of the Chambersburg Area Sports Boosters reported placing an order for $738 worth of merchandise with Chambersburg Screen Printing on March 16, 2026.

Police allege Ha received the payment directly and told the booster representative that the merchandise would be ready by April 3. The affidavit states that the merchandise was not received.

The booster representative reportedly attempted to contact Ha multiple times between March 20 and April 29 seeking information about the order. According to the affidavit, those attempts were unsuccessful.

Pennsylvania State Police were contacted on May 5. Investigators said they also attempted to reach Ha by telephone and went to Chambersburg Screen Printing in an effort to speak with him, but were unsuccessful.

The criminal complaint alleges Ha obtained or withheld $738 belonging to the Chambersburg Area Sports Boosters by taking payment for merchandise and failing to provide the merchandise.

A representative of the Chambersburg Area Sports Boosters told the Franklin County Free Press that the merchandise consisted of screen-printed gear for the high school softball team and that payment had been made in advance. The representative said Chambersburg Screen Printing closed not long afterward and that efforts by booster officials to communicate with Ha were unsuccessful.

Court records show summonses were issued on August 13. A certified summons was accepted on August 18, and a first-class summons was accepted on September 3.

The case remains active and is awaiting a preliminary hearing. A preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for September 29, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Franklin County Central Court.

The case is filed under docket number MJ-39307-CR-0000194-2026.

Ha is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
