Charlene was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, May 5, 1961 to the late Charles E. and Dolores G. (Lowans) Minehart.

Char had a true passion for rescuing animals, and was partial to chihuahuas. She was also known to bake “out of this world” brownies and “brown butter cookies.” She lived life with a vengeance, spunk, with a wild wing and a happy zing and just loved living.

To the friends who she leaves her mark on, you were a treasure to her. One unique friend she had is Dustin Clever, her son Mark’s childhood best friend, who she held in her heart as if he was her own son.

Keep those memories and stories flying high. If she were writing this she would tell you, “It’s gonna be a minute, peace out. See ya’ on the other side.” We are pretty sure she meant I am heading to a beach when you heard her say “peace out, cheers.”

She was preceded in death by an infant son Matthew J. Hernandez, a sister Linda L. Miller and a brother, Charlie Minehart.

Charlene is survived by her children, DJ and Mark Minehart, along with their Father, who will always hold her dear in his heart, Domingo Hernandez of Virginia.

Charlene had the sweet, but short opportunity to touch DJ and Mark with the words “I love you” one more time before she passed. She also leaves behind sisters, Cindi Minehart, Nancy Hershman, both of Chambersburg, PA, Susan (Sue) Matson of Laurel, MT and Katherine (Kathy) Davin of Avon, NY.

Char is also survived by her “sisters from another mother”, Karen Lowans and Laurinda “Lyn” Stahl. Nieces and Nephews, Anna Weber, James Hutson, Antonio Quiros, “sweetheart” Koren Brockback, Jeffrey Rath, Anthony Minehart, Melissa Hanson, David Sears and Matthew Allen (Sears) Davin and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Missing her are also her little loves, her furbabies, Chica, Lil’ bit and Bella, who send doggie hugs and kisses. xoxo

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hancock Funeral Home, LTD of Philadelphia, PA.

Services will be at the privacy of the family on a beach where it is 5 O’Clock somewhere.

A Memorial Service will be held at a date to be determined and location in which we will invite all to attend and share good times and memories.
