Charles Eugene McCullough

Born October 16, 1960, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Katherine L. Heckman McCullough.

Charlie spent his life with an enduring love for all things mechanical, farming, outdoors and spending time with those he was close to.

Charlie attended James Buchanan High School and later earned his GED.

He worked for numerous local farms in the Mercersburg area, and last worked at Payor’s Powertrain. He enjoyed parking cars at the annual Mercersburg fair.

Charlie was known by those closest to him as a hardworking man who was always there when you needed him. His passion for tinkering and fixing machines was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his determination and his joy in bringing things back to life. Whether working in the garage or taking part in truck-pulling contests, Charlie found happiness in hard work and simple pleasures.

A proud community member, he formerly volunteered with the MMP&W Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company and was a former member at Two Top Fellowship Church. He was a proud supporter of our United States military and veterans.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, a niece Renee L. Tansey, a great-nephew Matthew Tansey, and two brother-in-law’s, Dale E. Clever and Gerald L. Buchanan.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the MMP&W Mercersburg Activity Center.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fries Funeral Home.
