Charlotte R Lowman obituary 1926~2021
Mrs. Charlotte R (Carnegie) Lowman, 95, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Bayer Drive, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021.
Born March 10, 1926 in Wilkinsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Rozella G. (Peters) Carnegie.
Mrs. Lowman was a graduate of Indiana High School, Indiana PA, with the Class of 1943. She later attended beauty school in Pittsburgh, PA.
She and her husband, the late James W. Lowman, were married March 21, 1946 in Indiana, PA. They lived in Silver Spring, MD for 30 years before moving to their Bayer Drive address in 1985. Mr. Lowman passed away March 22, 2001.
Mrs. Lowman was employed at various beauty shops and later as a school crossing guard for 15 years.
She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1191 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro.
Mrs. Lowman is survived by one daughter, Catherine A. “Cathy” (Mrs. Philip) Roman of Waynesboro; 5 grandchildren, Michael Roman, Amy Bryant, Tim Roman, Steven Roman, and Cindy Rife; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son William J. “Billy” Lowman who died August 9, 1995; and one brother, James Carnegie.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Chaplain Adam Leeper officiating.
Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, near Rouzerville, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
