SHIPPENSBURG — Police here are thanking the public for help detectives received in a case where a man tried to lure a 12-year-old child into his vehicle last Friday.
“A person has been identified regarding this case,” police said in a news release posted Monday on Shippensburg Police Department’s CRIMEWATCH® Website.
Police did not provide information about the suspect. Instead, detectives said the investigation is ongoing and further information will be released at a later date.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance in providing information,” the news release said.
Shippensburg Police were dispatched to the area of North Fayette Street and Roxbury Road at 7:25 a.m. June 21 for a report that someone had tried to lure a 12-year-old into their vehicle.
The girl told police a thin white male between 20 to 30 years of age stopped a silver colored four-door car next to her while she was out walking.
He asked where she was going and tried to get her to get in his car, police said.
She described the as being clean shaven with short brown hair and wearing a white T-shirt.
