Christine “Chris” Shannon, 90, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the care of Brookview Healthcare Center in Chambersburg, PA.

Christine “Chris” Shannon

Born on December 10, 1935, in Washington, DC, Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Edith Morris, her son, Tim Starkey and her husband, David “Dave” Shannon.

Chris was raised in Arlington, VA where she graduated from Washington-Lee High School and attended Strayer Business College.  She made her career in the insurance field where she worked until her retirement.

She became an avid collector and through the years had many various collections.  If there was a yard sale, estate sale, flea market, or an antique shop along the way while traveling she would make every effort to stop as you never knew what treasure might await and she certainly found a few.

She met her husband, Dave, through their mutual interest in collecting and they relocated to Fayetteville in 2002 where they both continued collecting and selling.  They became regulars at Kenny’s Auction on Friday nights, and a fun fact is they were actually married there on a Friday night during a break in auction activities with family and many of the friends they had met at the auction house in attendance.

Chris is survived by her daughter, Robin (Lance) Webb, her brother, Joseph Morris, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a niece and nephews.

Chris was known as a truly kind and generous lady.  If you were lucky enough to get to know her and become friends, then you would know what a loving and caring person she was and that she would do anything she could to help if needed.

Her wishes are to be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband, Dave at a date to be later determined.

Arrangements are entrusted to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home.

If desired, memorial offerings can be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter in Chambersburg, PA.
