Christine Marilyn Hill 1955-2026

Christine Marilyn Hill, née Eger, 71, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died on October 3, 2026.

Christine Marilyn Hill
Christine Marilyn Hill

Born September 1, 1955, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Helene Eger.

Known to friends as Chris or Chrissy, she will be remembered for her selflessness, her loving support, and her playful spirit.

Chris devoted her life to caring for others, always putting the needs of family and friends before her own. In 1982, she married Thomas Hill, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage marked by faithfulness and love.

While her children were young, Chris was a full-time mother and homemaker, deeply involved in their school activities and serving on the PTA for 11 years. Later, she worked at Hanger Clinic in Chambersburg, welcoming new patients and helping them navigate insurance coverage and claims. She also cared for her parents as they approached the end of their lives, giving them the same devotion she offered throughout her family.

Chris was the person others turned to for a listening ear, reassurance, and advice. Easy to talk to and always supportive, she made time for the people who needed her. To her grandchildren, she was “Gram”-sweet, loving, and, in some cases, a second mother. Her kindness came with a sense of humor: she loved lighthearted teasing and could get delightfully sassy when a game of Uno or a Scrabble match was not going her way.

A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Chris often dressed in team gear to watch their games. She cherished weekend getaways with her sisters, visiting her family in California, sharing wine or a beer with family and friends, and trying her luck at the slot machines.

A devout Catholic, Chris was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg for more than 50 years. Her faith was a central part of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; her five children, Brian, Jason, Ben, Lorraine, and Aaron; her five grandchildren, Patrick, Ethan, Jackson, Samantha, and Brityn; her siblings, Rose, Liz, Geri, and Elmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helene Eger.

A Mass will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with The Rev. Father Allen Wolfe officiating. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the Mass at Lincoln Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chris’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity close to her heart.

Condolences may be expressed at: the funeral home’s website.
