Christmas Day crash DUI related

A two-vehicle head-on crash was caused by a Chambersburg woman driving under the influence of alcohol on Christmas Day, according to a police report.

Police expect to charge Norma Lopez Menchu, 48, with driving under the influence, pending results of toxicology tests. Additional charges could be filed, depending on the outcome of an ongoing investigation, a spokesman for Chambersburg Police Department said.

Lopez Menchu was eastbound in the 400 block of Norland Avenue at the underpass at the railroad bridge when she left her lane of travel and collided with a west-bound car. Police did not provide the name of the other driver, who refused medical treatment at the scene.
