Clarabelle “Clara” Shearer 1942-2023

Clarabelle “Clara” Shearer, 81, of Spring Run, went to be with the Lord, November 18, 2023.  She was the wife of Jake Shearer.

Born January 2, 1942, in Exton, Chester County, PA, Clara was the youngest and last surviving of 7 children born to the late Kenneth Reed and Ethel (Crider) Berrier.

She lived in Kimberton until early adulthood and graduated in 1967 from the Owen Roberts High School, Pottstown, PA.

Clara had 25 years of service with the former Merck Sharpe & Dohme Pharmaceuticals, North Wales, Montgomery County, PA retiring from the firm in 1994.

She formerly attended Juniata Baptist Church and more recently the Doylesburg United Methodist Church and the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Spring Run.  Clara served on the Board of Directors of the Salem Cemetery, Blairs Mills.

Clara had many Amish friends and enjoyed providing transportation for them over 15 years.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert Casey Jones and his wife, Mary, of Carlisle, and Tracy Lee Jones and his wife, Wendy, of Greensburg, PA, 7 grandchildren, Brittney, Katheryn, Lindsey, Evan, Holly, Wyatt and Lauryn Jones.  Also surviving are 2 sisters-in-law, Vivian Berrier of East Waterford and Margaret Garvin of Berrier, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her former husband of 45 years, David E. Jones in 2011 and 6 siblings, Dorothea, Calvin, Joshua, Thelma, Robert and Elizabeth “Betty.”

Viewing Tuesday, November 21, 2023 between 6 and 8 p.m. in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA and Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service with Rev. Darwin Goshorn and Rev. Dr. Meagan M. Boozer, officiating.

Interment Salem Cemetery.
