Craig E Koons 1960-2024

Mr. Craig E Koons, 63, of Waynesboro, PA passed away unexpectedly, Friday morning, February 23, 2024.

Born October 2, 1960 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Shirley J. (Henicle) Koons of Waynesboro and the late Donald L. Koons.

Craig graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1978.

He and his wife of over 30 years, Della J. (Morrison) Koons, were married on September 3, 1993, in Waynesboro.

Craig worked with his father at Koons AI in Waynesboro, as a livestock breeder for many years and was part owner of the company for the past 25 years. He also owned Koons Crosscreek Gardens, with his wife, from 1998 until 2008.

He was an active member of Five Forks Church, Waynesboro, where he served as a deacon. He was also a life member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game and served on the Waynesboro Recreation Board.

Craig enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his family on vacation.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Anne Koons (Dylan Leidig) of Waynesboro and Claire Koons (Nicholas Shelley) of Frederick, MD; two grandchildren, Baylee Koons and Adlee Leidig; his siblings, George “Willie” Koons (Sandy), Jean Koons, Emily Matthews (Doug), Linda Crumbacker, David Koons (Gwen), Ellen Jackel, and Pam Fitzsimmons (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Doug Crumbacker.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2024, The Auditorium at Five Forks Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating. Burial will be private.

There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Five Forks Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
