Cumberland County Man Found Guilty of Sexual Abuse

35-year-old Dennis Weaver was convicted on charges of Indecent Assault of a Child and Corruption of Minors after a two-day trial presided over by Judge Albert H. Masland. The verdict follows detailed testimony from a 14-year-old victim, who recounted repeated sexual abuse by Weaver that began when she was six and continued until she was eight.

According to the District Attorney’s statement, the abuse occurred during private moments at social gatherings, where Weaver inappropriately touched the victim. Before his sentencing, set for November 26, 2024, Weaver will be evaluated by the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.

The case was led by First Assistant District Attorney Courtney Hair LaRue, with charges initially filed by Trooper Clay Forcey of the Pennsylvania State Police in Carlisle. The DA extended special thanks to Trooper Kara Gooley and Victim Advocate Adrianne Vaughn for their pivotal roles in supporting the victim throughout the trial process.
