The D.L. Martin Co. recognizes Duane Brown as Employee of the Month for December. Duane lives in Three Springs and has been with the company for 11 years. He is a Machine Operator in the CNC Department. His supervisor, Zach Farley, is a Production Supervisor who has been with D.L. Martin Co. for 3 years.
To eliminate double-handling journals due to a separate bench operation for dimpling the parts, Duane suggested dimpling them at the Mazak QT 300 Lathe during the cycle time of the 2nd operation. In addition, to reduce tooling replacement costs when running bearing caps on the Mazak HCN-6000 Horizontal Machining Center, a custom 5.315 milling cutter with replaceable turning cartridges is now being used instead of an expensive replaceable boring bar.
The company also recognizes Jenn Martin for her suggestion implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in December.
