D.L. Martin Co. recognizes John Heinbaugh and Owen Slates as Employees of the Month for January. John is a Machinist and Leadperson who lives in St. Thomas and has been with the company for 39 years. Owen is a Machine Operator who lives in Knobsville and has 17 years of service. Their supervisor, Zach Farley, is a Production Supervisor who has been with D.L. Martin Co. for 3 years.
To reduce cycle time on journals run on the Mazak QT 300 Lathe, John and Owen suggested replacing the Trigon 432 Insert with a bigger CNMG 542 Insert that allows for increased speed and feed rates as well as a much heavier depth of cut on the turning operation.
The company also recognizes Sam Gordon, Matt Nagy and Nikolay Romashkevich for their suggestions implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in January.
