The D.L. Martin Co. recognizes Sam Gordon as Employee of the Month for April. Sam lives in McConnellsburg and has been with the company for 6 years. He is a Machine Operator in the CNC Department. His supervisor, Zach Farley, is a Production Supervisor who has been with the D.L. Martin Co. for 4 years.
To reduce cycle time and eliminate mismatched marks on spotfaces when running bearing caps on the Mazak HCN-6000 Horizontal Machining Center, Sam suggested using a larger insert and contour mill in the “Z” axis to create the radius on spotfaces. Sam is also being recognized for a couple other suggestions that improved workplace organization, opened up floor space, and eliminated transportation waste.
The company also recognizes Scott Biddinger, Mike Hawbaker and James McFadden for their suggestions implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in April.
