Darren David Bickford

Born December 31, 1984, in Munich, Germany, he was the son of the late Warren E. Bickford, who passed away October 31, 2021, and Natalie A. (Bingaman) Bickford of Greencastle.

Darren graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School with the class of 2003 and completed the Electrical Occupations program at Franklin County Career and Technology Center.

He worked as an electrician with Decker Electric and Star Electric before opening his own business, Bic Electric. He also subcontracted for MacKoul Electric, working up and down the east coast. His talent and love for his work allowed him to troubleshoot challenging electrical issues and he was often called upon to fix them.

He loved helping others and always fixed anything that his family and friends needed. His desire to help others extended to any person or animal in need.

Darren was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking, fishing, camping, and was an expert mushroom hunter. Nobody could keep up with him and his family believes he could smell a morel mushroom from a mile away.

Darren was blessed with creativity and a love for learning. As a child, he often took things apart just to see how they worked, although he rarely put them back together. He also loved drawing portraits, painting, woodworking, and landscaping. He loved all eras of music and especially enjoyed playing music trivia with his family and friends.

Darren’s devotion and affection for his son, Devin, was beyond measure. He loved nothing more than spending time with his son. Darren’s love for God and God’s creation was so strong, you could often find him with his Bible in hand quoting his favorite verses and spreading God’s word.

Darren formerly attended Trinity United Church of Christ in Waynesboro, PA. He recently attended Otterbein Church in Waynesboro, PA, where he also attended the Men’s Bible Study.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Devin D. Bickford of Waynesboro, PA; his siblings: Sherry A. Fox and her husband, Fred of Philadelphia, PA, Warren E. Bickford, Jr. of Smithsburg, MD, Jennifer L. Campbell and her husband, Shawn of Waynesboro, PA, Michelle M. Bickford of Waynesboro, PA, Brittanie R.
