Mr. David Alan Clopper, 68, of Greencastle, PA passed away Sunday evening, January 9, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born April 24, 1953 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Richard L. Clopper and Mildred A. (Carmichael) Weaver.
Dave graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1972.
Dave worked at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA . After leaving Grove, Dave serviced the Waynesboro area as a local contractor for over 25 years.
He and his wife, Donna L. Clopper, were married on October 26, 2012 at Five Forks Church, Waynesboro.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ryan Clopper of Salisbury, MD, Jason Clopper of Brentwood, CA and Jennifer Murray of Waynesboro, PA, Kristy Zeis of Mercersburg, PA, Samantha Moats of Hagerstown and Melanie Davis of Mercersburg; 9 grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara A. Witmer of Chambersburg, PA and Nancy Clopper of Framingham, MA; including several nieces, nephews and extended family members
As God was always first in his life, Dave was a faithful devoted servant to the Lord. For many years, Dave was a member on the Church board at Five Forks Church and led the Grounds and Maintenance Board that oversaw the physical plant and was a crucial part of the Building Committee. He was heavily involved in the Men’s Ministries, Men’s Discipleship and some Sports Ministries. Currently, Dave was worshiping and serving at Lifehouse Church of Hagerstown Maryland. Dave went on several mission trips and led multiple Bible study groups.
Dave has always had a thirst for the great outdoors and adventure. He loved fishing in the Everglades, camping trips out West, and hiking with his wife. He loved family vacations to the beach and snorkeling on the Islands.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 in The Auditorium at Five Forks Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday evening, in the church.
