Day Trip Destination: Cluggy’s Amusement Center

As a father of two lively boys, I’m always on the hunt for family-friendly destinations that promise a day filled with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories. This Sunday, we wanted to do something fun, but with the rain decided we didn’t really want to travel. We decided to stay close to home and explore Cluggy’s Family Amusement Center in Chambersburg, PA. Cluggy’s proved to be an oasis of fun that kept us all smiling, making this an exceptional excursion worth sharing.

Even though the weather was less than ideal with relentless rain, Cluggy’s provided the perfect escape from the gloomy outdoors. My two boys, bursting with energy, eagerly embraced the inflatable attractions—a world of bounce houses, obstacle courses, and the pièce de résistance, the “Tunnels of Fun.” To my delight, the pricing was incredibly reasonable. At just $8 each, they enjoyed hours of non-stop entertainment, climbing through three-story tunnels, whizzing down slides, and wholeheartedly immersing themselves in the sheer joy of childhood.

While I watched my sons conquer the towering tunnels of fun, my own nostalgia kicked in when I stumbled upon the arcade games. Instead of fretting over the cost, I opted for a $50 batch of tokens for the four of us to share. To my surprise, those tokens lasted us a remarkably long time. It was a refreshing change from other arcades where tokens seem to vanish in the blink of an eye.

Despite being tempted, we didn’t dine at Cluggy’s Café, but we were genuinely impressed by the variety of food options available. The menu caters to all tastes, whether you’re craving a slice of pizza, golden fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, pretzels, nachos, or even a refreshing snow cone. The tantalizing selection piqued my taste buds, and I couldn’t help but imagine returning for a pizza slice another time.

We stumbled upon a delightful surprise during our visit—kids celebrating birthdays. Cluggy’s offers enticing party packages for children’s birthdays, and it’s safe to say that both of my boys now harbor dreams of hosting their upcoming parties there. The vibrant atmosphere and numerous attractions make it an ideal party destination for young adventurers.

One fascinating piece of information is that Cluggy’s is now under new ownership, led by Melissa and Brian Bentzen. While honoring Cluggy’s decades-long tradition of family fun, they are also revamping and enhancing the facilities to offer new adventures. Cluggy’s is more than just an amusement center; it’s a place that brings families and friends together, fostering cherished memories that last a lifetime. The dedication to maintaining this legacy while ushering in exciting changes is a testament to their commitment to providing a top-notch experience.

For families seeking a day of boundless entertainment, Cluggy’s Family Amusement Center is open seven days a week, making it a flexible option for families with varying schedules. Remember that the operating hours can vary depending on the season, so it’s wise to check in advance.

Cluggy’s Family Amusement Center is conveniently located at 393 Beddington Blvd., Chambersburg, PA 17201. It’s a destination where family fun takes center stage, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow parents and adventure seekers alike.

We had an awesome time close to home, even on the rainiest of days. Until our next adventure, keep exploring and savoring precious moments with your loved ones.
