Debra Kay Thompson obituary 1957~2020
Debra Kay Thompson, 62, of Waynesboro, PA passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 31, 2020, in her home.
Born August 26, 1957 in Thurmont, MD she was the daughter of the late Carl and Carmen (Shriner) Thompson. She lived in the Thurmont area for most of her life.
Ms. Thompson was a graduate of Catoctin High School with the Class of 1975. She later went on to attend business school in Frederick, MD.
She was currently employed as a sales associate at Walmart and had been with the company in Frederick and Waynesboro for several years. Ms. Thompson worked hard all of her life to provide a happy life for herself and her daughter.
Ms. Thompson was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Thurmont and a past member of Thurmont Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an avid fan of Baltimore Ravens football, and enjoyed the beach and most of all her beautiful grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, April Barnes-Sanchez and her husband Carlos of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Isabella, Ruben, Carly and Victoria; two siblings, Ronald Pearcey and Carolyn Sexton both of Frederick, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Pearcey.
Graveside services will be held 11a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701 with Pastor Tom Darner officiating.
Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
