Democrats are the Masters of Projection

If you want to see what the Democrats are up to, just listen to what they accuse others of doing. Lacking any successes since they have been in charge for the last two years, the Dems are accusing their opponents of destroying democracy, suppressing the vote, or committing insurrection. These accusations are all false.

Democrats are the masters of Projection. Almost everything they say and do is a perfect example of that psychological trait first reported on by Sigmund Freud in 1895. What is projection? According to Psychology Today, “It is defined as the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another.“

What Freud described was a subconscious or unconscious action on the part of the individual doing the projecting, but it just may be a fully conscious tactic of the party of the extreme left.
The last week of Democrat campaigning for the mid-terms is full pf examples of projection, especially in speeches by the so-called “heavyweights” who were brought out to save faltering Democrat candidates. One big lie that has been repeated over and over by the likes of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden is that “Republicans are out to dismantle our democracy if they win”.

Aside from that being a total falsehood, it projects on Republicans a strategy that the Democrats have been employing for years. In 2016, the Obama justice department spied on the campaign of Donald Trump, using the discredited “Steele Dossier”, since debunked, as its justification. In fact, we now know that the FBI knew the dossier was bogus, but used it to obtain surveillance warrants. After Trump’s victory on November 8th, 2016, Democrat mobs rioted for months, egged on by people like Hillary Clinton, who said Trump’s presidency was illegitimate. A campaign was launched by a Democrat organization called “Americans Take Action”, backed by actor Martin Sheen, among others, and used print and film ads to try to convince Trump electors to disregard the will of the voters and select Hillary as President. Fifty-four congressional Democrats boycotted Trump’s inauguration in 2017. The attempt to overturn the 2016 election by the Dems continued through 2020 with bogus impeachments and investigations, all yielding nothing but a continuous pressure on a duly elected President, Donald Trump. This, my friends, was the real insurrection, not January 6th, 2021.

Barack Obama and other Dems also say that Republicans want to take away freedom and speech and ban books from libraries. This is probably the most transparent lie of all and a textbook example of their projection. For years, leftist Democrats who control our schools have been banning books. The lefties have banned books such as “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Huckleberry Finn” “Catcher in the Rye” and “Tom Sawyer” from schools and public libraries, and of course we are all familiar with the left’s attempts to demolish statues of historical figures from Abraham Lincoln (a Republican) to Andrew Jackson (a Democrat) as a continuing assault on American culture.

To cap it all off, Democrats and their media allies have actively sought to censor conservative voices on social media. Even Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that they colluded with the FBI in 2020 to shut down what they term “disinformation” (anything that disagrees with the liberal viewpoint). The Democrat meltdown over Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter and his vow to make it a free speech platform is very illustrative of the left’s true motives.

Democrats blame Republicans for voter suppression, despite almost every PA Republican representative and every Republican senator in PA voting for mail-in voting in 2019. Same in Georgia, where Republican-led efforts at vote reform have led to record turnout this year. At the same time, it is the Democrats, led by President Biden, who try to suppress the vote by accusing Republican voters of being “extremists”.
Finally, Democrats projecting their election-denial on Republicans is rich. Practically every single Dem leader denied the legitimacy of Trump’s 2016 victory, and many said the same about past Republican election victories, including George W. Bush’s 2000 and 2004 wins.

In one sense, the Democrats may be correct. Our Constitution Republic (we don’t have a “democracy”) is under threat, but they need to look in the mirror to find who threatens it.
