Dennis Michael Newcomer, 65, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Born October 5, 1956, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Ron and Jean (Carter) Newcomer of Mooresville, IN.

38 years ago, he married the love of his life, Debbie (Bowers) Newcomer, September 24, 1983, at the Otterbein Church in Greencastle.

Denny was Vice President of Newcomer & Associates, Chambersburg, PA, for 12 years. He also worked 9 years for CES Engineering of McConnellsburg, PA. He served as Pastor for 20 years at Living Word Worship Center & The Fireplace, both of Hagerstown, MD and was Vice President of Celebration Ministries, Hagerstown, MD.

Denny was a man of God, who had a heart for missions and had a true passion for His word.
Denny loved golf and baseball and was a coach to his son and all his grandsons. He was a counselor, jokester, and history buff. He loved his two dogs, EB and Lucy.

In addition to his wife, Debbie, and his parents, Ron and Jean Newcomer, Denny also leaves behind to celebrate his legacy, his daughter, Lacey “Lace” Horst and her husband, Derrick of Greencastle, PA, his son, Jordan “Gator” Newcomer and his wife, Megan “Nutmeg” of Greencastle, PA; his beloved “Boogerheads”: Logan “Big Guy” Horst, Paige “Peepster” Horst, Ben “Benny” Horst, Tucker “Tuck” Newcomer, Judah “Yehuda” Horst, Molly “Mollyolly” Newcomer and Asher “A Bobbers” Horst; a sister, Julie Zarro and her husband, Ron; a nephew, Zach Zarro of Mooresville, IN; his mother and father-in-law, Marg “Nan” Bowers and Bob “Pap” Bowers of Mercersburg, PA.

A Celebration of Denny’s life will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 4 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 525 Leitersburg St, Greencastle, PA, with Dr. Chico Hernandez officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund of Living Word Worship Center, PO Box 448, Maugansville, MD 21767.

Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle is handling the arrangements.
