Donald Yeager Sr., 85, of Mercersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.
Born May 4, 1941, in Chambersburg, PA, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mable Moris Yeager.
Donald was raised in Chambersburg and attended Chambersburg Area High School before serving in the United States Navy for 6 years.
Donald married Helen L. Yeager on July 20, 1960.
After the military, he worked as a welder for 24 years at Grove Crane Manufacturing, 4 years at J.L.G., and 20 years as maintenance for the Tuscarora School District.
Donald enjoyed hunting, shooting archery for competition, spending time with his family and friend at the clubs, and sitting on his porch.
Donald was a member of: the Mercersburg American Legion Post 517, the Fort Loudon Legion Post 606, Mercersburg V.F.W., the Mercersburg Moose Lodge, the Marine Corps League of Chambersburg, and Two Top Fellowship Church.
Donald is survived by three sons, Donald Yeager Jr. and wife Cindy, Tommy Yeager Sr., Roger Yeager Sr. and wife Ginger, and grandchildren, Rodney Yeager, Lee Yeager, Trinity Ricker, Amanda Yeager, T.J. Yeager, R.J. Yeager, Mark Allen, and Brooke Allen, 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Barbara Yeager.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Yeager (2016), and three sisters, Betty Vanetesse, Lucille Cook, Thelma Clapsaddle.
A viewing will be 10 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Two-Top Fellowship Church and the funeral service will start at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ronnie Martin officiating.
Burial and military graveside honors will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
