Dr. Domingo A Garcia obituary 1928~2021
Dr. Domingo A Garcia of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021, at the age of 92 of congestive heart failure.
Although he was born in Cabanatuan City, Philippines, he made Waynesboro his home. Dr. Garcia served the community faithfully as a doctor of internal medicine in solo private practice for over 25 years.
He began his career as a Resident of Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center and as a Fellow in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University and Hospital.
Dr. Garcia was a physician of the old school, making house calls and treating anyone who needed medical attention. He cared deeply about his patients and became friends with many of them.
He was a faithful member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the International Organization of Alhambra.
He is survived by his wife, Purificacion Garcia; three children and their spouses and families, Margaret Garcia Abrams and Keith Abrams, Virginia Garcia Richardson and Bruce Richardson, and James Joseph Garcia and Barbara Garcia; and grandchildren, Lauren, Isabelle, and Paul Abrams, Mark Richardson, and Sterling Garcia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Robert Malagesi, MSSCC officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing.
