Mr. Earl Hoffman, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 22, 1936 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harry Hoffman and James and Zelda M. (Mentzer) Bell.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
He married Patricia (Bakner) Hoffman in 1967 in Hagerstown, MD.
Most recently Earl worked in the automotive department at Walmart in Waynesboro. Prior to that he worked in orchards, Jiffy Lube, and as a service attendant and Letterkenny Army Depot.
Earl loved the outdoors and in his earlier years he frequently hunted and did his fair share of fishing. Prior to becoming ill, Earl was a very outgoing person who found it easy to talk to strangers and make friends. He and his wife enjoyed many trips to upstate PA, taking in the beautiful scenery, watching for Elk, and hiking in the mountains. He loved his family, including his sister-in-law, Karen Ridge, whom he was very fond of.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Arnold Hoffman, William Hoffman, and Gloria Geesaman.
Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
