Mr. Edward E “Eddie” Carbaugh, II, 52, of Ft. Loudon, PA, passed away, unexpectedly on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his home.

Born December 12, 1970, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Edward E. and Brenda (Kitzmiller) Carbaugh, of Mercersburg, PA.

He graduated from James Buchanan High School, with the class of 1989.

He married Shay (Bitner) Carbaugh on June 20, 1998, in Mercersburg, PA.

Eddie worked as the UAW Local #171 Union Safety Representative for Volvo Powertrain, North America, of Hagerstown, MD. He was a former Deputy Game Warden for the PA State Game Commission for about 10 years.

Eddie was happiest in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or preparing some tasty meals on his grill or smoker! He loved baseball and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed music and going for rides on his Harley Davidson.

He was a member of the St. Thomas American Legion Post #612. His love of baseball lead him to start coaching both of his children as soon as they were old enough to play t-ball. He was a coach and board member for Saint Thomas Sports Association for many years. His last few years of coaching tor the American Legion Post 612 team were his most favorite.

In addition to his wife, and his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Chesney Carbaugh, of St. Thomas, PA, a son, Gabe Carbaugh of Ft. Loudon, PA, and his paternal grandmother, Shirley Carbaugh of Greencastle, PA.

A Celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Pastor Stan McCammon officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, in the funeral home.

Please wear your favorite baseball, Harley or hunting shirt in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Sports Association, P.O. Box 117, St. Thomas, PA 17252.
