Eight Product Recalls Announced for Safety Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced eight recalls Oct. 8 involving baby bath seats, swing seats, dressers, fireplace accessories, trimmer mowers, medals, bicycles and lighted bike-lock keys.

The recalls address drowning, fall, tip-over, fire, burn, crash and ingestion hazards.

ONTHEWEI baby bath seats

About 2,140 ONTHEWEI baby bath seats were recalled because they are unstable and can tip over during use, creating a drowning risk. The seats violate the mandatory safety standard for infant bath seats.

Consumers should stop using the seats immediately and contact onthewei@outlook.com for a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers must write “RECALLED” on the front in permanent marker, remove the backrest and arm restraints, cut the three suction cups underneath and email a photo showing the marked, destroyed seat. The product should then be discarded.

PACEARTH swing seats

Pacearth Direct recalled about 110,550 PACEARTH swing seats because the seats, metal carabiners, quick links or webbing straps can break during use, creating a fall hazard.

Consumers should stop using the swings immediately and contact recall@pacearth.com for a full refund. Consumers must write “RECALLED” on the seat in permanent marker and email a photo showing the marking and PACEARTH logo.

Romorgniz six-drawer dressers

About 12,078 Romorgniz six-drawer dressers were recalled because they are unstable when not anchored to a wall. They pose tip-over and entrapment hazards that can cause serious injury or death to children and violate mandatory safety standards required by the STURDY Act.

Consumers should immediately stop using unanchored dressers, move them to an area children cannot access and contact Romorgniz for a full refund. Consumers must write “RECALLED” on the top, front and sides in permanent marker, remove all drawers and send photos of the marked, disassembled dresser to Romorgnizrecall@outlook.com before disposing of it.

Details are available at romorgniz.store/recall.html.

Snow Peak propane fireplace inserts and lava rocks

Snow Peak recalled about 100 propane fireplace inserts and lava rock accessories because the rocks can ignite and explode when heated in the insert, creating burn and fire hazards.

Consumers should stop using the accessories immediately and contact Snow Peak for a full refund or replacement lava rocks. Refund returns include a prepaid shipping label. Consumers choosing replacement rocks may keep the insert but should not use it until the replacements arrive. Recalled rocks should be disposed of according to local and state requirements.

Contact Snow Peak at info@snowpeak.com or 888-424-4916. Details are available on the company’s recall page.

DR Power Equipment trimmer mowers

DR Power Equipment recalled about 42,860 Pilot and Premier trimmer mowers, with an additional 340 sold in Canada. Grass and debris can accumulate in the mowers and ignite, creating fire and burn hazards.

Consumers should stop using the recalled mowers immediately and contact DR Power Equipment for a free repair kit. Consumers concerned about installing the kit can arrange a free installation through an authorized dealer.

Contact recall@drpower.com or 800-854-3194, or visit drpower.com/recalls.

The Conqueror Avengers medals

The Conqueror recalled about 476 Avengers Infinity Gauntlet medals because high-powered magnets can detach, creating an ingestion hazard for children. The medals violate the mandatory safety standard for magnets.

Swallowed magnets can attract each other or other metal objects inside the digestive system, causing intestinal perforations, twisting, blockages, blood poisoning or death.

Consumers should stop using the medals immediately and contact The Conqueror for instructions on receiving a full refund or replacement. Consumers must cut the ribbon from the medal, mark both pieces “RECALLED” in permanent marker, discard them and email a photo of the disposed medal and ribbon to support@theconqueror.events.

Details are available at theconqueror.events/recall-inf or by calling 833-799-0368.

Van Rysel GRVL AF bicycles

Decathlon America recalled about 1,150 Van Rysel GRVL AF bicycles because the front lock nut can loosen during use, allowing the front wheel to loosen or dislodge and creating a crash hazard.

Consumers should stop riding the bicycles immediately and take them to an REI Co-op location for a free inspection and repair of the front fork assembly. Those unable to visit REI should contact Decathlon Customer Service.

Recalled models can be identified by the Van Rysel Product ID on the top right of the label beneath the frame, beginning with the number 5.

Contact support.america@decathlon.com or 415-408-5494. Details are available on Decathlon’s product safety recall page.

Giant SureLock LED-light keys

Giant Bicycle recalled about 3,630 LED-light keys included with certain SureLock bicycle lock sets, with an additional 1,395 in Canada. Children can easily access the button batteries, creating an ingestion hazard. The keys and packaging also lack warnings required under Reese’s Law.

Swallowed button or coin batteries can cause internal chemical burns, serious injury or death.

Consumers should stop using the LED-light keys immediately and bring them to an authorized Giant retailer for a $5 refund. Consumers must also bring the complete lock purchase or a photo of the lock’s serial number to verify that it is covered by the recall.

The bicycle locks and non-lighted keys may continue to be used. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled through local hazardous waste procedures.

Contact Recall@GiantBicycle.com or 866-458-2555, or visit Giant’s recall information page.
