Aug 17: Free Movie and Book – Where the Wild Things Are

Wild activities begin at 10 a.m. with the film starting at 11 a.m.

A total of 170 seats are available on a first-come first-served basis. All ages are welcome. Participants need to show their library card or get one on the spot to partake of free admission, free popcorn, soda and a free copy of Maurice Sendak’s beloved children’s book. Coupons for a second free book, available for pickup at the library will be handed out.

About the Movie

Feeling misunderstood at home and at school, mischievous Max escapes to the land of the Wild Things, majestic and sometimes fierce creatures. They allow Max to become their leader, and he promises to create a kingdom where everyone will be happy. However, Max soon finds that being king is not easy and that, even being with the Wild Things, there is something missing.

The free movie with free books program is a partnership between the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library, the Waynesboro Theatre and the Waynesboro Theatre Group.
