Downtown Chambersburg: Fall food truck fest this weekend

It’s fall food fest time again! Downtown Chambersburg parking lots will be overflowing on October 23 with trucks hoping to satisfy the appetites of visitors and locals.

The Fall Food Truck Fest is set from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. No admission fee is charged to visitors, who can choose their favorites from more than 40 vendors who are set to bring their finest delectables like seafood, pizza, barbecue, and desserts galore.

Vendors such as Lizzy’s Restaurant, Rollz On Wheelz Filipino Cuisine, Kimchee Girl, Chef de Crêpe, Yume Food Truck, and Whatta Jerk are just a few of the many delights descending on downtown.

“We are thrilled to host the Fall Food Truck Fest in downtown Chambersburg on October 23. We are thankful to be able to do it again.  I am grateful for our community, our vendors, and our amazing sponsors.” said Sam Thrush, president, and festival organizer of Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI).

Live music featuring Willeby Hayes, DJ Rello, DJ DK and Lucky Punk, sponsored by Corning Credit Union, will be performing for the fest this year.

“We’re trying to build relationships,” Thrush said of happenings such as the food truck extravaganza. “You never know when they will want brick and mortar.”

DCI’s bonds with area businesses have led to the support of many, including the food fest’s grand sponsor, McCleary Heating and Cooling and other backers, such as Volvo,
Momentum Services LLC, BB&T Now Trust, Corning Credit Union, Ludwick Eye Center, Lane Thrush Keller Williams Keystone Realty, First Energy Foundation, and VerStandig Media.

Proceeds from the Fall Food Truck Fest will help further revitalize downtown Chambersburg.
